Psalm 5: 4 -5, 10
"For you are not a God who delights in wickedness; evil may not dwell with you. The boastful shall not stand before your eyes; you hate all evildoers. You destroy those who speak lies; the Lord abhors the bloodthirsty and deceitful man... Make them bear their guilt, O God; let them fall by their own counsels; because of their transgressions cast them out, for they have rebelled against you."
Psalm 137: 9
"Blessed shall be he who takes your little ones and dashes them against the rock!"
This is something I've failed to understand. I know that God's word is infallible but I've never felt like I could pray the way David prays in these Psalms. How is it that he can pray that God carry out His wrath on people? I felt I should always pray that sinners repent because I am no better than they are. It's only because of God's grace that I've had the ability to come to Him at all. So why is it not just okay but righteous for David to pray this way?
I don't have the answer, but I do know that if I am to know God more I need to understand. I need to learn more about and love God's justice. I need to love God's goodness in sending people to Hell. And more than just accepting and understanding it I need to see it from God's point of view so that I can pray the way David prayed.
If I want to be closer to my Lord and totally given over to Him I need to feel what He feels even if what I have been taught would make it uncomfortable. I've said many times that we can't make the Bible fit our views, we have to adapt our view to fit the Bible but it takes work. I have to study it and study those who know more about it so that I can understand and so that I can be able to pray the way David prayed.

That's all I have. If I find good sources that explain it I'll post it in another note.
